Pamela Martinez
October 2–31, 2026
Opening Reception: October 2 | 6–8 PM
Mexican-American artist Pamela Martinez presents a collection of drawings created through the practice of translating Scripture into visual form. Originally developed through Art as Prayer, a Zoom-based class Martinez co-hosted during the pandemic, these works became a deeply personal practice of faith, reflection, and healing.
Martinez describes drawing as a form of therapy—an opportunity to internalize Scripture, confront fear and anxiety, and deepen her relationship with Jesus. Created privately and intuitively, the drawings reveal an intimate relationship with faith, often infused with humor, honesty, and familiarity.
Presented during Hispanic Heritage Month, this exhibition offers a personal look at Martinez’s exploration of faith, creativity, and healing through the lens of her Mexican-American experience.
