“Refuse to Fade: Defiance and Color” by Alisha Morgan opens May 1st from 6–8 PM at Victoria Phillips Studio & Gallery in Dalton, GA
This collection carries weight—twenty paintings marking twenty years of life after a diagnosis that was never supposed to leave room for a future. At twenty-six, Alisha Morgan was told she wouldn’t survive. Instead, she built a body of work that insists on presence, color, and continuation.
Each piece holds that tension: deep, dark grounds layered with bold, living blooms that refuse to recede. There’s honesty here—about fear, about endurance—but also something luminous that pushes forward anyway.
Based in Atlanta and self-taught, Morgan brings a distinct voice shaped by her experience across mediums, from glass to metal to tattooing. This exhibition is her most personal to date—and it shows.
The opening reception will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM. Refreshments will be provided, and guests are invited to meet the artist and experience the work in person.
